Feb. Blue Self Portrait Challenge

Self Portrait Blue FebruaryBlue because of longing.
Blue because my lasts steps were five years ago...stomping my way into a marriage.
Blue because to me, the word Duende is untranslatable.
Blue because I simply miss stretching my body and knocking on Earth's door this way.
Blue because it was the last season in my native state. Blue that beckons me home.
This is an image of me from a series of polaroid image transfers that I took as I practiced my wedding dance out on my deck. I no longer live in that wonderful deck-river-view apartment. I no longer live in a place where flamenco classes are even accesible. I do however, live in a wonderful, blessed marital home, but too from from the things that were me.

i think this is the best shot and right up this week on SPC. flamenco dancing exudes such emotion, but not usually the blues... but this... this is truly fantastic. fantastic lines too. love it.
