What Are You Thankful for?
WINNER ANNOUNCED!
I received such thoughtful, introspections for the Art Giveaway - I was truly moved. It was so hard to choose that I chose a winner AND a runner up! So I will be sending two copies of this signed photographic print out to the winners (one 8x10 and the other 5x7). In first place is Ogun with his thankful comment about waking up to life. I have read Eckhart Tolle as well, and recognize the power of this kind of spiritual journey and the difficulty of dissecting the ego. The runner up is Sharon whose thankful comment recognized the generations that paved the way for our paths and gifts heralded to us in our very biological make-up that too often go unappreciated. Stainboy was in close running all along with his thankful comment, but seeing as he won the last art giveaway I chose to spread the wealth! Winners- please send me an email message (not a comment) with your mailing address in order to mail the digital prints to you and Congrats!

I am thankful for every breath I take whether taking in the growth, love and longevity of the relatioships around me or with graphite in hand trying to document in some small way the power of those relationships and the connections within and beyond myself. I am thankful for an amazing wife whom I respect, love and challenge as she does me on a daily if not minute by minute basis. I am thankful for being raised by amazing people with fresh vegetables picked just a few steps from a home that my father built with his own hands and imagination and unwielding, awesome work ethic. I am thankful for knowing and being able to call my grandparents my friends...to see who I am through them as well as my parents...to see what interesting traits truly skipped a generation! I am thankful for a brother who is completely different than myself but at the same time is completely and wholeheartedly my brother....I am thankful for a country that collectively grew into the dream that its forefathers did not even know they had spun into existence so many years ago. I am thankful for good friends, 3 brothers and cousins from one coast to another. I am thankful for a lot of things and will stop now, realizing that I can't be too thankful for everything I have been given and even a few things I have earned for all of those people right next door who have little or nothing and no forseeable way out. Hope is the biggest commodity being bought and sold away in our crazy world economy. Thank-you amarettogirl!

I am grateful to be first generation to have been born in a country where I have liberties that many women still have to struggle and fight for. I am grateful to have been raised by such an incredible strong, thoughtful, creative and resourceful woman. I am grateful for the adversities that have come through my life as they have not only made me stronger but have molded me. I am grateful that I have learned to love who I am and look forward to what I will become. I am thankful for having all of my senses to be able to take in all of lifes scents, textures, visions, tastes and sounds. I am incredibly appreciative of my fur children who consist of my three felines and my one big pooch who give me such amazingly unconditional love. I am truly appreciative of all of my extraordinary friends be it old, new and rediscovered as my life is blessed for having had the opportunity to have shared time with them. I am thankful for my sister and her five children and my brother and his three. I am thankful for having had the chance to make peace with my father before his untimely passing. I am thankful for diversity, unity and choice. And ultimately, I am blessed and grateful for having had so many things to be thankful for.
Thank you Mari for providing a platform for people to ponder on what they are thankful for. As I read from comments of others, it does make me aware of the additional things I too am appreciative for from the smallest to the greatest of things.
Much Love, Peace, Harmony and Joy ;-D
happy thanksgiving! (my hair is chopped off)
i am thankful for the love that surrounds me everyday.
I'm thankful for waking up...I've found that there is a fuller way of living that you can move into. It makes you recognize your true responsibilities and appreciate your surroundings. I've woken up from the dream of "me and my life". I've realized the oneness of everything...the oneness of events, of nature, of humanity, of Being. I just(today)realized that as I became more aware and more aligned with life, material things came to me. But I still struggle to maintain the balance between the world of form(things) and the formless(the essence of life). What I am speaking of is an opening in my life that cracked open my shell of the false self(ego), and illuminates my experiences, initiated by the book "A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle. So I am thankful for destiny, which has been so kind to me...for the spirit of life reaching out to me and making me read that book. I found the connection between 'me' and the universe, the one life. So I'm greatly thankful for that. I have become more a part of existence now.
and I'm thankful for the essence of life that flows through me as art. I have an opening to a world of form that's in me, blessed by it.
Fate is has been ultimate, undiscriminatory friend, even when I didn't know it was watching.
I'm thankful that I can appreciate this world(art&music especially recently), and create things I appreciate(but not limited to that.)
I'm thankful for learning how to live...
